China-Pakistan Cooperation Hub and Pakistan China Center Launched in SCODA
In the afternoon of January 18, the launching ceremony of China-Pakistan Cooperation Hub and Pakistan China Center in SCODA was held in Jiaozhou.
Moin ul Haque, Pakistani Ambassador to China and Liu Jianjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Secretary of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, jointly launched the hub. Pakistan China Center in SCODA was officially opened.
China-Pakistan Cooperation Hub and Pakistan China Center in SCODA is located in Qingdao·International Cooperation Hub for SCO Countries. The total floor area is 1300 m2. It is a national level China-Pakistan cooperation platform in SCODA with the mission to, while capitalizing on the status of SCODA as a "Belt and Road" cooperation platform, strengthen bilateral industrial cooperation, expand foreign trade and two-way investment, incubate high and new tech industries, and deepen people-to-people exchanges in education, culture, sport, etc.
Before the official opening, Pakistan China Center has been operating on a trial basis and has made outstanding contribution to bilateral cooperation and exchanges. In the fight against the pandemic, SCODA has donated masks and other anti-COVID-19 supplies to Pakistan through Pakistan China Center, which demonstrated the deep friendship between China and Pakistan.
During the trial period, the center has also made a lot explorations to deepen bilateral culture and tourism exchanges. It has set up SCO (Qingdao) International Business Travel and Cultural Exchange Center Co., Ltd. with Qingdao Tourism Group, to jointly promote foreign-related services, consulate and VISA services, cultural exchanges, two-way tourism, etc. It has also organized the online financial forum for SCODA Administrative Committee and major Pakistani financial institutions in China. In particular, the contract-based chili plantation project it facilitated has created a new model of China-Pakistan local agricultural cooperation. The one-year trial plantation has been successful.
With the official launch of the Hub and the Center, they will play a bigger role to serve the development of SCODA, expand cooperation in international logistics, modern trade, two-way investment, business travel and culture, so as to strengthen Qingdao's position in the development of the "Belt and Road" New Eurasian Land Bridge Economic Corridor and in maritime cooperation, strengthen the connectivity of Qingdao with Pakistan and other SCO countries, so as to foster links of opening-up running eastward and westward, across land and over sea.
During his visit, Ambassador Moin ul Haque conferred plaque for SCODA Experimental Primary School and Qingdao Tongchuan Road Primary School, and conferred certificate to Wang Junyuan, youth representative of China-Pakistan exchanges and delegate of the 12th session of Shandong Students Federation. He also toured the calligraphy and painting exhibition and the children's artwork exhibition at Qingdao·International Cooperation Hub for SCO Countries.
