2021 China-SCO Countries Financial Cooperation and Capital Market Development Forum Held

On October 28, 2021, China-SCO Countries Financial Cooperation and Capital Market Development Forum themed on "Finance Empowers the Development of SCODA" was held at Grand Barony Hotel Qingdao Airport. SCO Secretariat and delegates from international organizations, foreign diplomats in China, heads of domestic and international large-scale financial institutions, renowned Chinese and foreign financial experts and corporate representatives carried out in-depth discussions regarding the increasingly active financial service and capital market of SCO, thus promoting profound cooperation.

Meng Qingsheng, Member of the Party Working Committee, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA made a special promotion of SCODA and said that SCODA expected to take this forum as an opportunity, and would like to invite all sectors to pool their financial resources at SCODA for a shared future, and join hands to build a new platform for Belt and Road international cooperation.

 

The Administrative Committee of SCODA signed cooperation agreements or memorandum of cooperation with related institutions and companies, and signed Agreements on Jointly Building Collaborated Innovation Area with five economic development areas, including Linyi Economic Development Area, Boxing Economic Development Area, etc.

 

The Administrative Committee of SCODA also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Astana International Financial Centre of Kazakhstan, and the two sides would discuss full financial cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, including financial science and technology, credit authentication and legal services, so as to better serve the real economy. Sri Lanka State Hall has been signed to be located at SCODA. This is the first state hall of Sri Lanka in China, which will expand the channels for cooperation by exhibiting and selling the special products of Sri Lanka, and promote the cooperation in economy and trade, investment, cultural and tourism industries. The Administrative Committee of SCODA also signed strategic cooperation agreements with financial institutions such as CICC Capital and Qingdao Branch of Bank of China Limited.

 

The first QDLP (Qualified Domestic Limited Partner) fund of Qingdao was officially landed at SCODA. SCODA will cooperate with China-Russia Energy Investment Private Equity Fund Management (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. to set up an overseas investment fund which invests abroad with RMB or foreign exchange. This will provide the overseas investment fund managers with the means to manage their overseas investment business and further open up the channel for the input and output of financial capital. It will also enrich investment entities, directions and scope, facilitate the opening up of capital, and improve the investment environment.


Long Guoqiang, Deputy Director General and Member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Tu Guangshao and other guests delivered keynote speeches. The forum has also released the research report of New Twilight of Global Financial Development: Current Situation and Outlook for the Financial Development of SCO and the Belt and Road Initiative.
