SCO Energy and Culture Research Institute unveiled!

On February 26, the unveiling ceremony for the SCO Energy and Culture Research Institute at China University of Petroleum was held in the SCODA. Zhang Lingling, Vice President of China University of Petroleum, and Hao Guoxin, Member of the Party and Working Committee, Deputy Director General of the Administrative Committee of the SCODA unveiled the research center.
The agreement for jointly establishing the SCO Energy and Culture Research Institute at China University of Petroleum was signed in June 2020 by the Administrative Committee of the SCODA, China University of Petroleum and Qingdao Heying Silk Road International Energy Development Co. Ltd. The research center was officially established in the SCO Cooperation Hub in December 2020. The research center mainly carries out cooperation and exchanges with SCO countries in academic research, talent training, cultural exchange, and think tank research, plans and organizes large scale international forums, seminars, experts' symposium while providing internship and field work opportunities for the students of China University of Petroleum.
During the unveiling ceremony, Hao Guoxin introduced the setting up, current situation, and development plans of the SCODA, pointed out that the current focus of the SCODA included energy development, international logistics, marine science and technology, and modern agriculture. He also said that the SCODA would view the SCO Energy and Culture Research Institute at China University of Petroleum as a starting point, and continue to deepen the cooperation with China University of Petroleum in international energy, education and conference organizing.
Zhang Lingling introduced the development history of the university, its characteristics in energy-related areas, and the achievements made in talent training, disciplinary building, scientific research, and international cooperation, as well as the fundamentals and advantages of the Foreign Languages College. She also said that the university would give full play to its advantages in talents, disciplines, and alumni, to support the Foreign Languages College in building the SCO Energy and Culture Research Institute, further expand and enhance cooperation with the SCODA in education, energy, science, and technology, thus taking substantial actions to participate in the development of the SCODA.
The business, tourism, and culture department of the Administrative Committee of the SCODA,, the representative of Qingdao Heying Silk Road International Energy Development Co.Ltd.; officials of the Foreign Languages College, Office of the Party Committee, the President's Office, Division for Science and Technology, and the Division for International Cooperation and Exchange of the university participated in the unveiling ceremony.
After the ceremony, representatives of the university took a tour of the national pavilions of the SCODA, the SCO corridor, and the office of the research center at the Qingdao China-SCO Countries Cooperation Hub.
