Achievements of the 2nd Environment Ministers' Meeting of SCO Member States
On July 29, the 2nd Environment Ministers' Meeting of SCO Member States (hereinafter referred to as the Meeting) was held in Dushanbe. The Meeting was hosted by the rotating chairmanship state of Tajikistan.
The Environment Ministers of SCO Member States attended online and on-site. The Meeting focused on discussing the current situation and prospect for the cooperation of SCO member states in environmental protection.
During the meeting, it was decided to establish a special workgroup for environmental protection of SCO member states, which would make a tremendous contribution in executing the SCO Environment Agenda. The Meeting also passed the draft of the Measures and Plan for Implementing 2022-2024 Environmental Protection Cooperation Ideas of SCO Member States. The draft would be submitted to the Council of Heads of SCO Member States (Dushanbe, from September 16 to 17, 2021) to be approved.
