SCO Secretary-General Met with FAO Representative in China Carlos Watson

On 1 March 2022, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming had a meeting with FAO Representative in China Carlos Watson.
Carlos Watson congratulated Zhang Ming on his appointment to the post of SCO Secretary-General and introduced the FAO's main responsibilities. He also expressed readiness to play a positive role in deepening food cooperation with SCO and its member states.
Zhang Ming spoke highly of the FAO's work in promoting food cooperation with SCO countries, stressed that food security and sustainable agriculture were among the priorities of SCO.
The two sides exchanged ideas on implementing the SCO-FAO Memorandum of Understanding and the Joint Plan of Action for 2021-2023.
