SCO Secretary-General Delivers Video Address to the 25th St Petersburg International Economic Forum
On June 16, 2022, at the invitation of Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Zhang Ming, SCO Secretary-General addressed the participants of the session named ASEAN-EAEU-SCO: Integration Segment of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, as part of the 25th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Secretary-General Zhang Ming noted the importance of the SCO as a multilateral platform for open, mutually beneficial and equal cooperation in Eurasia that helps to maintain regional security and stability. He emphasized the SCO's readiness for active interaction with the EAEU, ASEAN and other partner international organizations in order to build stable and trust-based relations in accordance with the memorandums signed before.
Among the participants in the discussion were Alexander Pankin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister; Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly; Denis Trefilov, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee — Executive Secretary of the CIS; Kairat Sarybay, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia; Vladimir Mau, Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration; Rashid Alimov, Taihe Institute Professor, Former SCO Secretary-General; and Alexei Maslov, Director of Institute of Asian and African Countries, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
