Shandong Provincial Leading Group for Building the SCO Demonstration Area Convened a Meeting
On the morning of August 6, the Shandong Provincial Leading Group for Building the SCO Demonstration Area (SCODA) convened a meeting. The meeting themed on thoroughly implementing the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on building the "Belt and Road" and the SCODA, the progress of the construction and works of the SCODA were reported, related documents were reviewed, and the future works were deliberated and deployed.
Liu Jiayi, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, Leader of Shandong Provincial Leading Group for Building the SCO Demonstration Area (SCODA) presided over the meeting and made remarks. Li Ganjie, Liu Qiang, Ji Binchang, Zhao Haozhi and members of the leading group attended the meeting.
It was emphasized at the meeting that this year marks the first year of the fourteenth-five-year-plan period, as well as the 20th anniversary of the establishment of SCO, whether or not we could build the SCODA well is a true test of us strengthening the Four Consciousness, upholding the Four Confidence, and doing well in the Two Maintains. We must steadfastly raise our political stance, improve our political judgment, perception and execution ability. We should ground every effort in the new development stage, fully, faithfully and completely implement the new development philosophy, serve and integrate into the new development paradigm, to inspire stronger senses of responsibility, mission and urgency, creatively carry out the general planning for the construction of the SCODA, and contribute to the high-quality development of the SCODA.
It was pointed out at the meeting that we should strive to build a platform to actively serve major national strategies, enhance the exchanges and cooperation between Shandong, Qingdao and related regions of SCO countries, and make efforts to build a new platform for "Belt and Road" international cooperation. We should strive to establish a sound mechanism, strengthen all-round regular connections with SCO, improve the operational system of the new platform for international cooperation, and expand cooperation contents with the friendly cities from SCO countries. We should strive to innovate the system, the management model and work procedures of the administrative committee of the SCODA, leverage the existing policies fully, effectively, and flexibly, and ensure the policies' efficiency. We should endeavor to seize projects, accelerate the progress of industrial projects, trading center, and the building of platforms. We should work closely with the local enterprises from SCO countries, guide more SCO resources and projects to gather at the SCODA, and contribute to the domestic and international dual circulation.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the general planning for the building of the SCODA has clarified the overall requirements, key tasks and supporting measures, therefore related parties must diligently study the policies, form a list of tasks, and implement each task. We should draw up performance evaluation methods centering on the objectives of building the SCODA. We must consolidate the mindset of "coordinating the efforts of the whole province in accordance with the general requirement". Related provincial leaders should step up overall coordination and keep close attention to the works. The member institutions of the leading group should give full play to the subjective initiative, shoulder their due responsibilities, and lean forward to serve the cause. Jiaozhou, and Qingdao in general should take the lead, and gather the strength of the whole city to promote the building of the SCODA, and ensure the tasks are completed and results are delivered at an early date.
