SCODA - Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park Signed Agreement of Cooperation

On July 28, the signing and unveiling ceremony of SCODA - Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park was held at the SCO International Trade Center. SCODA signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park and set up liaison offices. Shandong Hi-Speed Group and Qingdao SCODA Foundation Investment Development Group Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park. The "SCO Express" Pengsheng Industrial Park Special Train of China-Europe Freight Train from Qingdao, China to Tashkent, Uzbekistan was opened, representing that the fruits of the interaction between the two industrial parks have taken root.

The event was held in two venues at SCODA and Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park. Li Gang, Vice Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, Zhang Dong, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, and Nurkin Mamazanov, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, attended the ceremony at SCODA venue. Madimov Donyel Mamachalievich, Deputy Governor responsible for government investment of Syr-Darya Oblast, Uzbekistan and Ji Qiuhai, Chairman of Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches at the venue of Pengsheng Industrial Park.

In his speech, Zhang Dong said that with the joint efforts of all parties, SCODA has opened a special TIR scheduled line between Qingdao, China and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, unveiled Qingdao-Uzbekistan Cross-Border E-Commerce Training Exchange, and signed a memorandum of friendly cooperation with Djizzak Free Economic Zone. He said that as our cooperation continues to strengthen, we will effectively deepen practical cooperation in areas of investment and trade, logistics cooperation and industrial synergy, deliver more fruits of "interaction between two industrial parks" and contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan.

Nurkin Mamazanov hoped that more Chinese enterprises will invest and develop in Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan Embassy in China will give full support to bilateral cooperation and strengthen the bilateral economic and trade ties.

Ji Qiuhai hoped that through the "interaction between the two industrial parks" and practical cooperation with all parties, the two parks will give full play to their respective advantages and create a model of "interaction between the two industrial parks".

At the ceremony, the Office of China-Europe Freight Train (Qilu) in Uzbekistan and the Joint Overseas Warehouse between China-Europe Freight Train (Qilu) SCODA Foundation Group and Uzbekistan were unveiled simultaneously. "We will take this signing as an opportunity to continue to strengthen cooperation with SCODA, deepen trading exchanges with Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries, and actively explore the international market." Li Guangjin, Deputy secretary of the Party committee, Director of Shandong High-Speed Group said.

It was introduced that "interaction between two industrial parks and two zones" was the specific requirement of the General Plan for the Construction of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (hereinafter referred to as "General Plan"). Since the General Plan was approved, SCODA continues to strengthen the construction of an international cooperation network, promote exchanges and cooperation among domestic and foreign industrial parks, explore cooperation in industrial park management, information sharing, industrial connection and people-to-people exchanges with existing overseas economic and trade parks including the Great Stone Industrial Park and Uzbekistan Pengsheng Industrial Park. A total of 300 events of "Sister City Cooperation for a Common Future" have been held with 37 cities and parks in 14 countries, including St. Petersburg in Russia and Kazakhstan. SCODA has signed memorandums of friendship and cooperation with 14 industrial parks, including the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Russia, the China-Kazakhstan Horgos Border Cooperation Zone and the Brest Free Economic Zone in Belarus, providing new business models and examples for regional economic cooperation and development in SCO member states.

Uzbekistan is an important hub on the Silk Road. During the ceremony, the "SCO Express" Pengsheng Industrial Park Special Train of China-Europe Freight Train from Qingdao, China to Tashkent, Uzbekistan was run. The train carries machinery and equipment, tires, daily necessities and other goods, with a total of 100 TEUs worth about 2.5 million USD. It is expected to arrive in Tashkent in about 9 days. The operation of this freight train marks an important achievement of the friendly cooperation between SCODA and Tashkent. It will also further smooth the international logistics channel between Shandong and Central Asia, better serve the foreign trading enterprises in the province, and help Qingdao and Shandong to take the lead in the new pattern of national opening up.
