Zhou Naixiang Inspected the Construction of SCODA and Presided over Work Meeting

On March 25, Zhou Naixiang, Vice Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, and Governor of Shandong Province inspected the construction of SCODA in Qingdao, and presided over the work meeting. He emphasized that we should thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping on the construction of Belt and Road and SCODA, implement the requirements of the 20th CPC National Congress, seize opportunities and take pragmatic actions, accelerate the construction of the four centers of international logistics, modern trade, two-way investment, and business, tourism, and cultural exchange, and make all-out efforts to deliver substantial and pragmatic results and improve the reputation and recognition of SCODA.

Zhou Naixiang visited the supporting service station and yacht dock and other projects at Ruyi Lake, to learn about the planning and construction, transportation facilities, and ecological protection in detail. He pointed out that we should fully leverage the favorable natural conditions of rivers, lakes, and sea, improve the construction planning, deliver high-quality creative design, strengthen supporting service facilities, and build a modern new urban area that is livable, and conducive to business and tourism.

Zhou Naixiang stressed that we should fully, accurately and comprehensively implement the new development concept, focus on the construction of the "four centers", deepen reform and innovation, stimulate internal driving force, and continue to expand the local economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries and localities. We should build a hub for opening-up, increase efforts to attract and cultivate trade entities, accelerate the development of new forms of foreign trade, encourage competitive enterprises to "go global", and promote the "bringing in" of projects. We should set up sound platforms for exchange and communication, give full play to the SCODA Pearl International Expo Center, deepen economic, trade, and people-to-people exchanges with countries along the Belt and Road and SCO countries, and speed up the building of a new platform for high-level international cooperation. We should create a beautiful, livable environment, coordinate landscaping and environmental improvement, vigorously promote City-Industry Integration, and improve the quality of urban functions. It is important to build distinctive brands, strengthen publicity and promotion, continue to build a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized first-class business environment, and enhance the influence of SCODA at home and abroad. And we should innovate our operation model, attract social capital, strengthen organizational support, and seek new progress in building SCODA.
