On May 16, SCODA Regional Economic Cooperation Promotion Exchange Seminar was held in Urumqi Xinjiang. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, He Guoqing, Member of the Party Leadership Group, Deputy Director General of the Department of Commerce of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, attended the event and delivered speeches. Li Gang said in his speech that we will further pool the resource advantages of both sides, continuously expand the function of multimodal transport, promote economic and trade exchanges, consolidate and deepen cooperation achievements, and jointly build a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

He Guoqing said that the department will uphold the "Shanghai Spirit", deepen economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries, explore new models of local economic and trade cooperation, focus on connectivity, production capacity cooperation, expand cross-border e-commerce, digital economy and other new forms of business cooperation, and achieve industrial complementarity, mutual benefit and win-win results.

Five projects were signed and landed, including the SCODA Xinjiang Business and Trade Area project, SCO TIR International Hub project, Agricultural Products and Bulk Commodity Trade Cooperation project, SCODA-Central Asia Special Agricultural Products Transport Channel project, and SCO Special Agricultural Products Exchange.

Through this event, SCODA and the Xinjiang Silk Road Core Area will further integrate resource advantages, work together to promote economic and trade exchanges, consolidate and deepen cooperation achievements, and gather new momentum, add new vitality and expand new spaces for the construction of a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
