On May 18, Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA led a team to Kashgar of Xinjiang to visit the Headquarters of Shandong Province for Supporting Xinjiang, Kashgar Economic Development Zone and other places.

At the headquarters of Shandong for supporting Xinjiang, Li Gang visited Yuan Liang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial Government, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Kashgar Local Committee and Commander of Headquarters of Shandong Province for Supporting Xinjiang. Li Gang hoped that the Headquarters of Shandong Province for Supporting Xinjiang will play a role as a bridge to help the two places further expand cooperation space and deepen cooperation in logistics trade, industrial and supply chains coordination and other aspects. Yuan Liang said that the new group of personnel supporting Xinjiang will give full play to and carry on Shandong's pragmatic spirit for supporting Xinjiang, build a platform for pragmatic cooperation, efficiently link resources, and work with SCODA to serve the overall situation of national opening up, seek common development and share opportunities, and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of the two places.

On the same day, accompanied by Ma Lie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of the Kashgar Economic Development Zone, Li Gang also made field visits to Kashgar Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, Kashgar International Air Cargo Zone, Kashgar Jiabo Technology Co., Ltd., and Xinjiang Jianglaimei Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.

Li Gang hoped that the two sides will give full play to their respective geographical advantages and resource endowments, deepen cooperation in policy coordination, international logistics and cross-border trade, promote resource complementarity, project joint construction and people-to-people exchanges, and jointly promote opening-up through links across land and over the sea, running eastward and westward.

Ma Lie said that SCODA is a gateway of SCO countries to the Asia-Pacific market. He hoped that the two places will further strengthen communication and exchanges, fully link their capacity and demand, deepen cooperation in logistics, trade and other fields, and form a sound momentum of coordinated development and win-win cooperation.
