SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming Visited SCO President Uzbekistan Officially
From May 13 to 16, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming visited Uzbekistan, the rotating presidency of SCO, officially. During the visit, Secretary-General Zhang Ming met with Ukrainian President Mirziyoyev and the Acting Foreign Minister Norov respectively, and went to Samarkand to learn about the preparations for the 2022 SCO Summit.
According to Mirziyoyev, at present, Uzbekistan is making intensive preparations for the Samarkand Summit, and relevant work has been nearly completed. He believes that with the concerted efforts of all parties and SCO Secretariat, the summit will be a full success.
Norov said that Uzbekistan stood ready to work closely with the Secretariat and make unremitting efforts for the success of the summit.
Zhang Ming expressed his confidence in leading the Secretariat and working with Uzbekistan and other parties to fully implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of SCO member states in recent years, speed up negotiations on relevant documents of the Samarkand Summit and ensure that the summit turns out to be a splendid and fruitful one.
