Porcelain is made from china stone, kaolin, quartz, mullite, with glassy glaze or colorful painting. For the porcelain to form a shape, it must be fired in a kiln at high temperatures (about 1280℃ to 1400℃). The color of the glaze on the surface of the porcelain would change due to chemical reactions under different temperatures, a treasure of Chinese civilization.

China is the hometown of porcelain, which is an important creation of the working people in ancient times. Xie Zhaozhe wrote in the Five Miscellaneous Groups: Porcelain used to be called kiln-ware by the people. Because Ci county has the most kilns, porcelain is named after Ci, just as silver is named after Miti, and ink after Yumi. The name porcelain replaced kiln-ware because Ci county has produced the most kiln-ware. This is the earliest historical material discovered so far, where the name porcelain was first used.
