Sub-forum on Energy Cooperation of the China-Central Asia Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum Held

On February 17, the Sub-forum on Energy Cooperation of the China-Central Asia Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum was held in Qingdao.

Liu Jianjun, Vice Mayor of Qingdao Municipal People's Government, Zhou Hongwei, Deputy Director General of the Bureau of Economic Operations Adjustment of the National Development and Reform Commission, An Fengquan, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the National Energy Administration, Guan Zhaoquan, Inspector at Level 1 of the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong Province, and Li Gang, Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, attended the event and delivered speeches. Parviz Atoyev, Director General of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan delivered a video address.

Liu Jianjun said in his speech that Qingdao will provide standardized, professional, and international trading scenarios and products for domestic and international energy industrial chain enterprises. At the same time, we will give full play to the role of Qingdao International Energy Exchange and contribute to deepening international energy cooperation and promoting the joint construction of the "Belt and Road".

Zhou Hongwei said in his speech that the bureau will continue to deepen cooperation with Central Asia in the field of energy, consolidate and expand the achievements of oil and gas cooperation, jointly build an even closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future, and set a vivid example of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

In his speech, An Fengquan said that China and Central Asia will jointly promote the high-quality development of energy cooperation and make positive contributions to better serving all countries to ensure energy security and promote sustainable energy development.

Parviz Atoyev said that we will actively expand the import of oil, natural gas, and other products and joint infrastructure projects, and take this event as an opportunity to find new ways of cooperation and achieve win-win results.

Guan Zhaoquan said in his speech that Shandong Province will fully grasp the major opportunities of China to promote the "dual carbon" strategy and build Shandong as a pilot area for green, low-carbon and high-quality development, fully tap and transform its unique resource endowment and geographical advantages, balance fossil energy and non-fossil energy, coordinate efforts on both ends of supply and demand, and promote high-quality development of the whole energy industrial chain.

Li Gang said in his speech that SCODA will speed up the construction of a multi-level market trading system, create a pragmatic blueprint and example of high-quality development in the energy sector, accelerate the construction of the ecology for an energy community with a shared future, and contribute the wisdom and strength of SCODA to achieve the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".
