On January 19, the New Year Media Seminar of SCO New Area was held at Qingdao · SCODA Pearl International Expo Center. Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of SCODA, attended the event.

Zhang Xinzhu said that after realizing integration and platform development, the SCO New Area has entered the new stage of digitalization, and will pursue pragmatic development internally and take active actions in international cooperation. On the one hand, we should improve the functions, strengthen the foundation of the "five new cities", and make every effort to solve the difficulties and bottlenecks in the industrial and supply chains of SCO countries and countries engaging in Belt and Road development, to build a future-oriented international cooperation zone. On the other hand, we should promote SCODA to truly become a demonstration zone of the SCO and play a greater role in serving the local economic and trade cooperation of the SCO and countries engaging in the Belt and Road development. We hope that media at various levels and friends of the media will continue to care about and support SCODA, interpret the SCO opportunities from a higher stance and a higher dimension, and work with us to jointly implement the national strategies.

Journalists of 15 central, provincial and municipal level media, such as Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group and Guangming Daily, attended the meeting, and exchanged ideas on the publicity of SCODA. The journalists said that the development of the SCO New Area in 2023 has achieved obvious results, and the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee's opinions on supporting the high-quality development of SCODA have made new arrangements and provided new opportunities for SCODA. They will focus on the construction of the "five new cities" in SCODA, innovate reporting methods, interpret the SCO value, and tell the SCO stories well, to better serve the national strategies.
