Signing and Inaugurating Ceremony of SCODA - China‐Belarus Industrial Park Held
On August 30, the Signing and Inaugurating Ceremony of SCODA - China‐Belarus Industrial Park (Great Stone) was held at SCO International Trade Center. During the event, the Liaison Office of Great Stone at SCODA, the Liaison Office of SCODA at Great Stone, and Belarus Business Consulting Service Center were unveiled, and the first industrial cooperation project of SCODA-Great Stone was landed.
Li Gang, Vice Secretary of the Party Working Committee of and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, attended the event and delivered a speech. Kovalenoch, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Belarus in China, Yaroshenko, Director of the Administrative Committee of the China-Belarus Industrial Park, and Li Zhonghan, General Manager of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., delivered online speeches respectively. Zhang Dong, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, and Ren Fei, Deputy General Manager of China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., promoted SCODA and China-Belarus Industrial Park respectively.
Li Gang said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Belarus. The China-Belarus Industrial Park is known as a pearl of the Silk Road Economic Belt. The SCODA is committed to strengthening regional economic and trade cooperation with Belarus and attaches great importance to the interaction and cooperation with the China-Belarus Industrial Park to accelerate the flow, coupling and fusion of resource elements between the two sides. The establishment of liaison offices will strongly boost our in-depth cooperation in production capacity cooperation and commercial exchanges. We look forward to more fruitful production capacity cooperation with the joint efforts of both sides.
Kovalenok said that since the establishment of cooperation between SCODA and China-Belarus Industrial Park in 2018, the two sides have achieved fruitful cooperation results. The positive interaction between the two parks has helped to increase the flow of bilateral investment, goods and services. The Embassy of Belarus in China will continue to support the interaction between the two parks and deepen cooperation in various fields.
Yaroshenko indicated that the coordinated interaction between the China-Belarus Industrial Park and SCODA is a new step on the road of bilateral cooperation, which will surely bring new development opportunities to China-Belarus Industrial Park and promote the development of China and other SCO countries in the fields of experience exchange, innovative technology, trade and logistics connectivity.
Setting up liaison offices in SCODA and China-Belarus Industrial Park will build a new platform for two-way demonstration, accelerate the implementation of industrial projects, open up cross-border upstream and downstream industrial chains, continue to deepen and expand bilateral trade and investment cooperation, and promote the economic complementary advantages between China and Belarus, providing scenario, patterns, and examples for local economic and trade cooperation within the international bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
The Belarus Business Consulting Service Center aims to promote and introduce Belarus's latest investment cooperation and trade policies, introduce Belarus investment projects in a timely manner, assist Chinese enterprises to access Belarus related investment and cooperation policies and project information, and provide information service and assistance for enterprises interested in investing in and carrying out trade cooperation with Belarus.
As the first industrial project of the "collaboration of two industrial parks and two areas" between SCODA and China-Belarus Industrial Park, the project of key technology of wear-resistant, anti-corrosion and anti-infection coating preparation and high-end precision parts application signed this time is invested and constructed by Qingdao Geruiwei New Material Technology Co., Ltd. The project will be registered both in SCODA and China-Belarus Industrial Park, building a joint research and development laboratory in China-Belarus Industrial Park, and the research and development results will be industrialized in SCODA, realizing effective interaction between research and development and production.
It was introduced that "interaction between two industrial parks and two areas" was the specific requirement of the General Plan for the Construction of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (hereinafter referred to as "General Plan"). Since the General Plan was approved, SCODA continued to strengthen the construction of international cooperation networks, promote exchanges and cooperation among domestic and foreign industrial parks, explore cooperation in industrial park management, information sharing, industrial connection and people-to-people exchanges with existing overseas economic and trade parks including China-Belarus Industrial Park and Uzbekistan's Pengsheng Industrial Park. SCODA has signed memorandums of friendship and cooperation with 37 industrial parks and associations, including the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Russia, and the Brest Free Economic Zone in Belarus, providing new business models and examples for regional economic cooperation and development in SCO countries.
Ding Anhui, Deputy Director General of Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, leaders of the Administrative Committee of China-Belarus Industrial Park, China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and IOISAS, and representatives of enterprises from SCODA participated online or offline.
