SCO Economic and Trade Development Research Institute Launched, SCODA and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation Signed Co-Construction Agreement

On January 30, the Signing Ceremony between SCODA and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation on the Co-Construction of the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade (SCO Economic and Trade Development Research Institute) & Launching Ceremony of the SCO Economic and Trade Development Research Institute was held at the SCO Service Center. Ji Zhiye, Former President, Director of the Academic Committee of China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of SCODA, Yu Zirong, Vice President of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, and Li Gang, Vice Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, attended the event.

Zhang Xinzhu said in his speech that, this year marks the fifth anniversary of President Xi Jinping's announcement on building SCODA. We will take the SCO Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Forum as an important node, and make every effort to build the Ruyi Lake Headquarters Base with the Qingdao·SCODA Pearl International Expo Center as the core and the headquarters economic belt with the SCO Avenue as the axis. He hoped that the two sides will work in synergy and pursue the same objectives, actively explore new models and ways of cooperation between the locality and the institute, shoulder the responsibility of the major national task, and push economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges among SCO countries to a new level.

Ji Zhiye and Yu Zirong said they will leverage the advantages of research institutes and high-end think tanks, integrate relevant resources, strengthen practical cooperation, and enable SCODA to play a bigger role in the SCO local economic and trade cooperation.

Li Gang and Yu Zirong signed the agreement on co-construction on behalf of SCODA and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation respectively.

Zhang Xinzhu presented Ji Zhiye with the letter of appointment as the Honorary President of the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade (SCO Economic and Trade Development Research Institute).
