SCO Secretariat Held the Nowruz Celebration

On March 22, the International Nowruz Day celebration was held at SCO Secretariat. Li Hui, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, Ambassadors to China of SCO member states, observer states and dialogue partners, representatives of international and regional organizations in China and representatives of the media attended the event.

In his speech, Zhang Ming, SCO Secretary-General spoke highly of the significance of the celebration of International Nowruz Day and said that the SCO family has the tradition of celebrating the arrival of spring. He hoped that through such events, friendship and cooperation among SCO countries could be promoted, cultural exchanges could be deepened, dialogues among civilizations could be enriched and a peaceful, secure, harmonious, and prosperous future could be established and shared.

Later, Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General delivered a video speech, and Li Hui, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs, and Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Indian Ambassador to China also delivered speeches on behalf of the host country China, and India, the rotating presidency of the SCO.

The atmosphere was festive and cheerful. The participants visited the exhibition of special handicrafts of SCO countries, watched the elaborately prepared performances, and tasted the special cuisine of the "SCO family".
