Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone seeks cooperation with companies and institutions in the Yangtze River Delta. On December 1, the Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone Promotion & Project Roadshow of "1+N" Series Activities of SCODA Exploring the Yangtze River Delta was held at Songjiang District of Shanghai.
Themed "Connect with Yangtze River Delta to Look for Future Cooperation", the event was jointly hosted by the Administrative Committee of SCODA, Administrative Committee of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Area, Jiaozhou People's Government and Qingdao International Airport Group Co., Ltd. It aims to deepen the coordination and collaboration among SCODA, Qingdao Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, and the Yangtze River Delta City Cluster, and comprehensively strengthen industrial, economic and trade, and financial cooperation, thus providing strong support for SCODA to fully leverage its attributes as public goods, and accelerate creating a new platform for Belt and Road international cooperation.

The Symposium on Further Promoting the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta held on November 30 stressed that we should further promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, further enhance the innovation capacity, industrial competitiveness, and development level, and pioneer in forming a new pattern of higher-level reform and opening up. In this context, it was the prime opportunity to hold the Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone Promotion of SCODA Exploring the Yangtze River Delta and seize the opportunity of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
This is also the development demand of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. At present, the Airport Economic Demonstration Zone is strengthening investment attraction and accelerating the introduction of high value-added projects and high-quality projects that have a strong correlation with the airport industry. Li Gezhuang town will focus on the introduction of medical beauty, biomedicine, and other industries, and bring in high-end medical beauty institutions and senior medical beauty talents, to create a "new hub" of medical beauty linking Japan and South Korea, oriented towards other parts of China, and reaching SCO countries.
As soon as the promotion was concluded, the heads of invited enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region came forward one after another, to exchange business cards with the main heads of the above-mentioned towns and subdistricts, and expressed their cooperation intention. Located in the zone, Jiaodong International Airport has opened 241 routes, including 31 international and regional routes, covering Asia, Europe, the Americas, SCO countries, and countries engaged in the Belt and Road development. The Airport Economic Demonstration Zone has formed a three-dimensional transport network of sea, land, air, and rail, and created a super pivot linking SCO countries and facing Northeast Asia, transporting cargo nationwide and worldwide.
There is also the only airport comprehensive bonded zone in Shandong Province. Since its operation on August 28, Qingdao Airport Comprehensive Bonded Area has opened up new tracks such as cross-border e-commerce, a new generation of information technology, and freight warehousing. It has yielded fruitful results in project construction, institutional innovation, and expansion of opening up. All these efforts have accelerated the creation of a new bonded trade industry base for the SCO Comprehensive Service Platform, a new platform to promote and deepen trade facilitation in Jiaozhou, and a new pillar for building Qingdao into a gateway hub city. According to statistics, Qingdao Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone has introduced 14 projects with a total investment of 16.198 billion yuan, such as Bondex and Xinhengyuan.

At the 2023 SCODA · City Development Conference held on October 30, SCODA released the new plans for building "five new cities". Among them, the SCO Airport New City, located in the Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, will focus on aviation, international economy and trade, comprehensive bonded service, and supporting services among other fields, and build in functions of multiple sectors such as commerce, culture and tourism and industry, to accelerate building the functional supporting area for the international logistics center and industrial supporting area of the commercial, tourism and cultural exchange center of SCODA.
Forging ahead to seek high-level development. "Currently, Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone is integrating transport, land, talent, capital and other supporting resources, to make its due contribution for SCODA."
