SCODA Macao Investment Promotion Event Held

On the evening of January 22, China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (hereinafter referred to as SCODA) Macao Investment Promotion Event was held in Macao. Liu Jianjun, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Qingdao Committee, Secretary of CPC Jiaozhou Committee, Director of the Party and Working Committee and the Administrative Committee of SCODA introduced the development and future planning of SCODA, based on the theme of "Jiaozhou-Macao-SCO Meeting · Promoting Cooperation and Friendship with Portuguese-speaking Countries". Zhang Lianqing, President of Macao Qingdao Friendship Association and Macao Qingdao Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Qingdao Macao Investment Holdings Co., Ltd, Qingdao Macao Investment Holdings Co., Ltd presided over the event.

Secretary Liu Jianjun introduced that, since its construction plan was approved, SCODA has delivered outstanding achievements. In over one year, SCODA received many diplomats and representatives of international organizations from SCO countries, attracted over 100 companies to visit, reach strategic cooperation intentions, and bring their business here. “SCO College of Economy and Trade”, “Qingdao·SCO Cooperation Hub”, “The Core Area of SCODA” and other major projects are being implemented in an orderly fashion, leaping forward on the road of building a new platform for international cooperation along the Belt and Road.

In the future, SCODA keenly hope to support more companies’ efforts in “coming in” and “going out” via the platform of Macao. On the basis of the aspirations of Qingdao, the demand of Jiaozhou and the advantages of Macao, SCODA would also like to strengthen the cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries, and deepen the bilateral and multilateral exchanges in the fields of investment, trade, culture and education, tourism and leisure, so as to fuel a better future of Qingdao-Macao cooperation with vigorous SCO energy.

After the promotion, the representatives of SCODA signed cooperation agreements with Macao Qingdao Chamber of Commerce, the Alcoholic Beverage and Food Association of Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions, Air Macao and China Travel Service (Macao).

Before the promotion, the Macao Liaison Station of China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area was officially unveiled.
