On March 25, Hong Kong-Shandong Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting was held at SCODA. Song Junji said in his speech that he is looking forward to taking the official opening of the Shandong and Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation Innovation Center as an opportunity to promote the in-depth communication of Shandong's industrial foundation and Hong Kong's high-quality innovation resources, develop their strengths, accelerate the transfer and incubation of a number of new technologies and new products, form a number of major innovation achievements, promote more scientific and technological innovation achievements into real productivity, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefits and win-win results.
Zhao Haozhi said in his speech that we will lead the construction of a modern industrial system with scientific and technological innovation, accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, further improve the functions of national open platforms such as SCODA, and continue to deepen practical cooperation with Hong Kong in the fields of science and technology innovation, economy and trade. We welcome more Hong Kong enterprises to connect with Qingdao's industrial sector, choose Qingdao, invest in Qingdao, and seek presence in Qingdao, and join hands to achieve win-win development.
Wong Hak Keung said in the speech that Shandong and Hong Kong are best partners who could supplement with each other for mutual benefits. Shandong-based enterprises could take advantage of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation to sail to the world stage and polish the Chinese brands.
Chen Jiaxian said that Hong Kong and Shandong will prioritize science and technology innovation, and develop new quality productive forces in their economic work. Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation establishes partnership with SCODA, aiming to providing maker companies from Hong Kong with abundant scenarios and broad markets to enter the Chinese mainland, and jointly creating an international makers ecology.
New Platform for Shandong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation
During the event, the Shandong-Hong Kong Technology Cooperation and Innovation Center was officially unveiled, marking its operation as an entity. At the event, SCO Holding Development Group and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly build the Shandong-Hong Kong Technology Cooperation and Innovation Center, promote connectivity between platforms and resource sharing, and facilitate the in-depth integration of industrial and supply chains between the two sides.
"The Shandong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation and Innovation Center is a vivid practice of SCODA to accelerate the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces, and is also a pragmatic measure to promote the cooperation of Shandong-Hong Kong science and technology innovation and the transformation of scientific findings." Zhou Lin, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, introduced that in the future, the Shandong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation and Innovation Center will focus on key areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine and digital economy, link high-level innovation resources, gather the science and technology innovation elements of "government, industry, university and research, finance, service and application", promote the free flow of innovation elements, efficient collaboration of innovation entities, and matching and integration of innovation chains. We will build a hub for scientific and technological innovation and the commercialization of scientific findings.
14 Projects of New Quality Productive Forces Signed
On the same day, 14 cooperation projects between Shandong and Hong Kong, including the Handle Technology Application Standard Joint Experimental Center and the SCO Cross-border Communication Data Innovation Center, were signed.
"Focusing on the three characteristics of new quality productive forces, including high-tech, high efficiency and high quality, we have gathered three major groups of new technological breakthroughs, new allocation of factors and new industrial transformation, to promote the cooperation between enterprises of the two sides, joining hands to catalyze new quality productive forces." Zhou Lin introduced.

SCODA delivered promotion on the scene. Shandong, Qingdao and SCODA released policies supporting scientific innovation, aiming to expand and strengthen scientific and technological innovation enterprises through complimentary policies.

After the event, the attending officials visited the Shandong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Cooperation and Innovation Center.
Over 200 people including heads of provincial and municipal departments, and representatives of enterprises, research institutes and related institutions from Shandong and Hong Kong attended the event.
