On the afternoon of September 24, the Meeting to Promote the Building of the SCODA was convened at SCO Service Center, aiming to thoroughly implement the requirements of the meetings of Shandong Provincial Leading Group for Building the SCO Demonstration Area, and accelerate the quality improvement in building the SCODA. The meeting heard The Three-Year Action Plan of Qingdao to Accelerate the Building of the SCODA, and the SCODA's reports on the matters that need provincial-level support. The provincial departments responded to related matters and studied the future work. Vice Governor Ji Binchang presided over the meeting and made remarks.

Ji Binchang pointed out that it was General Secretary Xi Jinping who personally announced, deployed, planned and pushed the major national task of building the SCODA. This is a major strategic opportunity and historical mission entrusted by the CPC Central Committee to Shandong Province and Qingdao City. We must keep in mind the instructions of the General Secretary, plan the SCODA from a high standing point, build the SCODA by high standards, with the strength of the whole province.

 

During the meeting, Xue Qingguo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Vice Mayor of Qingdao reported The Three-Year Action Plan of Qingdao to Accelerate the Building of the SCODA. Liu Jianjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Secretary of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee, and Director of the Administrative Committee of the SCODA, reported the previous work of the SCODA and the matters that need supports from the provincial level. The provincial departments including the Department of Commerce, the Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Information Technology responded to SCODA's requirements for support.
