Briefing Meeting of SCO New Area Held
On June 8, the Briefing Meeting of SCO New Area was held in Jiaozhou. Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Committee, Secretary of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Economic Demonstration Zone delivered a keynote speech. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA attended the meeting. Yu Dongquan, Vice Secretary of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee, and Mayor of Jiaozhou presided over the meeting. Li Xiaoguang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiaozhou People's Congress, Sun Xiaobing, Chairman of the CPPCC Jiaozhou Committee, Zhang Dong, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, and Fan Qizhi, Vice Secretary of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee, attended the meeting. Ji Jiadong, Leader of the 12th Roving Supervision Group of the "Year of Improving Work Style and Abilities", Counselor at Level 1, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Zhang Xinzhu introduced the overall development of SCO New Area from four aspects, including“SCO New Area, with a clear development goal, is facing rare development opportunities”，“SCO New Area is seizing the opportunity to become the most promising investment destination in northern China”，“SCO New Area is strengthening the real economy foundation to become a new model of the pioneering modern industrial city”and “Party building provides a strong guarantee for modern SCO New Area construction.”.
Zhang Xinzhu pointed out that SCO New Area shouldered the mission of building a new platform for the Belt and Road international cooperation. Its economic output ranks first among cities of the same level in Shandong province, and it is truly "a city of mission" and "a highland with value". In particular, the 15th Party Congress of the CPC Jiaozhou Committee put forward the working strategy of "whole-region coordination led by one core and supported by the synergy of three areas,", which is the action guide for the construction of SCO New Area at present and in the future.
Zhang Xinzhu stressed that the core area of SCODA would bring in elements and resources, and seek policy support for the construction of the SCO New Area. The Airport Economy Demonstration Area will foster innovation and promote industrial upgrades for SCO New Area. Excellent City Demonstration Area will provide a livable, pro-business environment for SCO New Area development and for accelerating the integrated development of the industries and the city. Rural Revitalization Qilu Model Demonstration Area will provide the ecological foundation for SCO New Area. The four sections of "one core and three areas" will work individually and also in groups, aiming for precise targets and forming a fist at the same time. They are the powerful engine supporting the prompt rise of SCO New Area.
Zhang Xinzhu said that the best relationship between a city and the enterprises is to fulfill and reinforce each other. The city needs to grow, so do the companies and our strategic partners. Therefore a virtuous cycle has been formed among all the stake holders. We will build an industrial Internet ecosystem, a chain development ecosystem, a win-win ecosystem between government and enterprises, a friendly and clean government ecosystem, and take the lead in building a "tropical rain forest" that enables entrepreneurs to thrive, so that enterprises become the biggest source of vitality for the development of the city.
Zhang Xinzhu stressed that to build a modern SCO New Area, We must stick to the Party's leadership in building the modern SCO New Area and improve our capability and conduct through improving implementation and strengthening Party building and reform, so as to turn our institutional advantages into the momentum of high-quality economic and social development.
Zhang Xinzhu hoped that experts, academics, and talents in various industries and areas would gather in SCO New Area amd exchange visions and ideas for common development. He eagerly expected that leading companies and large-scale SOEs can come to SCO New area and grow here as development partners and members of the community of joint effort. He hoped that all would build, pursue and realize dreams together to create a better future for all.
Li Gang introduced the overall construction of the core area of SCODA. SCODA will continue to shoulder its mission of "taking the lead to write a new chapter" and deeply integrate into the working system and mechanism of coordination across the whole city featuring "four integration", accelerating the building of a platform for SCO and Belt and Road countries to gather capital, technologies and talents, a platform where the supply and industrial chains interplay, and a platform for showcasing the fruits of economic and trade cooperation. And thus it can provide the scenario, model and paradigm for local economic and trade cooperation under the framework of multinational and bilateral international cooperation, and strive to create a new engine for higher-level opening up in the province.
