Video Conference on the Trans-Caspian Sea Transport Corridor Cooperation between Qingdao and Azerbaijan Held
On the afternoon of May 24, the Video Conference on the Trans-Caspian Sea Transport Corridor Cooperation between Qingdao and Azerbaijan was successfully held at the SCO Service Center. Li Gang, Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Li Gang hoped that both sides would seize the opportunity of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Azerbaijan, take strengthening the construction of this international transport corridor across the Caspian Sea as a good start to promote closer economic and trade exchanges, strengthen Belt and Road cooperation, carry out more cooperation in energy, agriculture, transportation, logistics, tourism and informationization, thus facilitating the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Azerbaijan to yield new fruits.
Xiang Zhiqiang, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA promoted SCODA. Aida Badarova, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Secretary General of the Coordinating Council for Cross-Border Freight Transport, and Samet Galarov, Deputy Director General of Customs Regulation and Trade Process Facilitation Administration of Azerbaijan attended the event and delivered speeches. Akiri Tadiyev, Vice Mayor of Ganja attended the event. Valek Askolov, Chairman of the Mission of Alat Free Economic Zone, attended the event and delivered a speech.
At the conference, Xiang Zhiqiang introduced the development of SCODA and hoped that Azerbaijani economic and trade enterprises could expand the Chinese market, and that SCODA could provide a series of supporting services for Azerbaijani enterprises.
Aida Badarova said that in the past three decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Azerbaijan have conducted friendly and practical economic and trade cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. She hoped that enterprises in Qingdao and SCODA could explore the possibility of investing in Azerbaijan and strengthen the bilateral cooperation in international logistics and economic and trade exchanges.
At the conference, Samet Galarov introduced Azerbaijan's development of green customs clearance channels to realize fast inspection and release, and expressed willingness to continuously improve the cooperation mechanism of customs clearance capacity and provide assistance for customs procedures of expressway-railway transport.
Valek Askolov appreciated the efforts made by SCODA for the trade in goods between China and Azerbaijan, and welcomed Chinese enterprises to do business in the Free Economic Zone. Alat Free Economic Zone will provide all necessary assistance for the cooperation benefiting the two peoples.
The participants actively exchanged ideas on expanding Trans-Caspian Sea Transport Corridor, improving transport facilitation and cooperation in the free economic zone. All parties agreed that the cooperation has great potential and broad prospects, and that they would further implement the cooperation intention reached at this conference and jointly contribute to China-Azerbaijan friendly cooperation.
