The 2022 Annual Review Meeting Held at SCODA
On January 20, the 2022 Annual Review Meeting of SCODA was held at the SCO Service Center. Li Gang, Vice Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA, attended the meeting and made remarks.
Li Gang said that 2022 is a key year for SCODA to accelerate its growth and rise-up. We have thoroughly implemented the important instructions and requirements of President Xi Jinping, actively served and emerged into the national strategy for opening up, focused on "delivering substantial and pragmatic results, and improving the reputation and recognition of SCODA", adhered to the working mechanism of whole-region synergy led by one core and the mindset of "building platforms, creating models, aggregating industries and strengthening entities". The development of the "four centers" for international logistics, modern trade, two-way investment, commercial, tourism and cultural exchanges and the construction of the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade have gained substantial achievements. We have innovatively built major platforms including the Qingdao·SCODA Pearl International Expo Center and the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Comprehensive Service Platform (hereinafter referred to as SCO Comprehensive Service Platform), accumulatively issued 56 cases for institutional innovation, and delivered results for high-level opening up and high-quality development.
Li Gang emphasized that 2023 marks the beginning of implementing the requirements of the 20th CPC National Congress, the fifth anniversary of President Xi Jinping's announcement of establishing SCODA, as well as the year of making strenuous efforts and seeking breakthroughs to accelerate the rising of SCODA from a higher starting point. We should further raise our political stance, adopt the mindset of "planning from a strategic dimension and implementing from a pragmatic dimension", and focus on the medium and long-term objectives proposed by The Overall Plan for the Construction of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area. We will further deepen the internationalized and marketized operation of the Qingdao · SCODA Pearl International Expo Center, accelerate the construction of supporting resources and infrastructure around the Ruyi Lake, and strive to build a comprehensive service park integrating service functions such as conference and exhibition, culture and tourism. We should also speed up the upgrading of the SCO Comprehensive Service Platform and the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade, actively promote the construction of platforms such as the Qingdao International Energy Exchange and the SCO International Hub Port, optimize and improve the functions of platforms, and create prime choices and new heights for economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries and countries along the Belt and Road. It is of great significance that we highlight project construction, focus on strengthening the industrial chain, and make every effort to attract projects that are conducive to the construction and development of SCODA and have distinctive SCO characteristics. We need to demonstrate courage and take initiative to enhance trade facilitation by focusing on key factors such as logistics facilitation, trade facilitation, production capacity cooperation and financial supply. We should actively prepare for major events such as the SCO Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Forum, and the 2023 SCO Expo, and seek more substantial breakthroughs in building a new platform for Belt and Road international cooperation.
