Li Qiang Visited Shandong
From May 17 to 18, Li Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council visited Shandong. He emphasized that we should thoroughly implement the decisions and requirements on doing a good job in the economy made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, speed up the development of a modern industrial system supported by the real economy, take more targeted measures to expand domestic demand and stabilize external demand, and strive to ensure a sustained recovery in economic performance.
In Weifang, Li Qiang visited Goertek Group and Weichai Group. He walked into the workshops and laboratories, inspected the products and components, affirmed the enterprises' efforts in strengthening the main business and continuous innovation, and encouraged them to further improve products and technologies. He stressed that it is necessary to vigorously develop advanced manufacturing clusters, coordinate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and cultivate and grow strategic emerging industries. Li Qiang visited Jinbao Automobile City to learn about the sales of new energy vehicles and the situation of bringing the products to the countryside. He stressed that it is necessary to optimize policies to support purchase and use, accelerate the construction of infrastructures such as charging piles, and further release the consumption potential.
In Qingdao, Li Qiang visited China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) and heard reports on the development of SCODA. He pointed out that building SCODA is a major strategic decision announced by General Secretary Xi Jinping himself. We should strengthen the connectivity of resources, and complementarity of advantages, and jointly forge the longboard to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Li Qiang visited Haier Group and Hisense Group to learn about their operations. He hopes that enterprises can adapt to users' demands, carry out individualized customization, create more competitive products, further explore domestic and foreign markets, and actively promote the industrial Internet to better empower small and medium-sized enterprises.
During his visits, Li Qiang presided over a symposium to hear the reports of the heads of relevant departments, cities, counties, and enterprises in Shandong Province. He stressed that to promote the sustained recovery of economic operations, the key is to enhance confidence in development, do more specific things to hedge various uncertainties and make the utmost efforts to strive for the best results. We should focus on manufacturing, innovation, and integration, promote high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing industry, and strive to find a new path for high-quality development of the real economy. It is necessary to lead and create demands with high-quality supply, make more consumption hotspots, and do a good job of characteristic consumption and emerging consumption. It is necessary to combine expanding domestic demands with improving people's wellbeing, and make solid progress in developing urban and rural infrastructures and public services to strengthen weak spots. We must speed up the development of new forms and models of foreign trade and find ways to stabilize international market shares. Efforts should be made to prevent and solve risks in key areas and create a favorable environment for economic development.
