Seminar on the Economic and Trade Cooperation between China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Held in Guangzhou

On October 18, the "Together with Guangdong Enterprises to Achieve Win-Win Results" Seminar on the Economic and Trade Cooperation between China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held in Guangzhou. The seminar focused on the "connection of platforms, production capacity cooperation, coordinated collaboration, and coordinated development", fully leveraged the nature of SCODA as a public good, promoted all-round cooperation between the two sides in industrial cluster convergence, upgrading of shipping capacity, people-to-people exchanges and interaction, and improved coordinated regional development, to jointly serve China's international cooperation and contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road.

Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of SCODA; Huang Xin, Level II Bureau Rank Official of Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce; and Wang Hong, Level II Bureau Rank Official of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, attended the event and delivered speeches. Xie Ying, Deputy Commissioner of the Special Commissioner's Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Guangzhou; and Zhao Tongshun, Level II Bureau Rank Official of Huangpu District, Guangzhou, attended the event.

Zhang Xinzhu said in his speech that SCODA would continue to provide favorable policies to optimize the business environment, and facilitate investment and trade. He sincerely invited guests from various sectors to explore SCODA, a hub of vitality and entrepreneurship, and seek new opportunities for cooperation and create a new pattern of development.

Huang Xin said that the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce would actively promote the communication and exchanges between SCODA and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthen contact, carry out practical cooperation, and promote the cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" to a new level.

Wang Hong said that SCODA, as the only state-level platform in China for local economic and trade cooperation among SCO countries, undertakes the major mission of expanding local economic and trade cooperation among SCO countries. SCODA actively builds the platform, innovates the development model, and becomes a new hub of high-level opening up of Shandong Province.

On the same day, the strategic cooperation of the Invest in SCODA · Greater Bay Area Business Association was launched, and nine business associations, including the Guangdong Province Federation of Industry Association and the Guangdong Automobile Aftermarket Dealers Association, became partners of "Invest in SCODA", and would give full play to their resource advantages to build a bridge of cooperation and exchange between SCODA and the enterprises from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Five projects, including the North China Settlement Center of Gowe Group and the SCO Biomedical Industry Platform, have been signed, covering biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce, and other fields, and will boost the agglomeration of leading industries in SCODA and promote the upgrading of advantageous industries.

"We will deepen the coordination with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, make good use of the advantages of the Greater Bay Area, strengthen cooperation in various fields, open up the markets of RCEP, Southeast Asia and Portuguese-speaking countries, promote open cooperation and connectivity, and jointly expand the space for development," said Fu Zhonghua, Member of the CPC Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA.

At the seminar, the construction of SCODA, as well as its advantages in investment promotion and industrial development were introduced. And the "Silk Road E-commerce" comprehensive service base of SCODA was promoted.

Representatives of more than 200 business associations from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Fortune Global 500 enterprises, multinational enterprises, and industry leaders participated in the event.
