The Fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit Opened

On October 11, the Fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Shandong Provincial People's Government, opened at the Qingdao International Conference Center. More than 800 guests from various sectors gathered in Qingdao to build a platform for cooperation, seek common development, and share a new future.

Hao Mingjin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, delivered a speech and opened the summit. At the opening ceremony, Lin Wu, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, delivered a speech. Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and governor of Shandong hosted the ceremony. Ge Huijun, Chairman of the CPPCC Shandong Provincial Committee, attended the ceremony. Lu Zhiyuan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, and Secretary of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, delivered a presentation.

Hao Mingjin hoped that the multinational companies would further strengthen their confidence, explore the Chinese market, share the opportunities brought by China's high-quality development and high-level opening up, and develop with the Chinese economy.

Lin Wu said in his speech that we would continue to build a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized first-class business environment, further promote trade facilitation, strengthen support in production factors, optimize service mechanisms, and boost the development of multinational companies. Guo Tingting, Vice Minister of Commerce, and Pedro Manuel Moreno, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, delivered speeches.

Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani, President of the Downstream Business of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), Nakamura Kuniharu, President of Sumitomo Corporation, Jack Perry, Chairman-Elect of the 48 Group Club, and Yoon Doson, Chief Vice President of CJ Group, CEO of CJ China and Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China, delivered speeches.

Gu Xueming, President of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, released a research report titled Certainty in the Uncertain Global Investment Environment.

The summit facilitated the negotiation and signing of 194 foreign investment projects with a total investment of 20.6  billion USD. At the opening ceremony, 24 projects were signed on-site.

Xiao Bailing, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, officials of Shandong and Qingdao, including Zeng Zanrong, Jiang Cheng, Wang Suilian, Fan Bo, Song Junji, Zhou Liwei, Wang Guiying and Zhao Haozhi, attended the Opening Ceremony. A total of 548 guests from 422 multinational companies, diplomatic envoys of various countries in China, representatives of relevant international organizations, business associations, experts and scholars, heads of national ministries and commissions, and heads of provincial departments attended the opening ceremony.
